MIFF NOTES: Clara and the Secret of the Bears (2013, Dir. Tobias Ineichen)

The bears have a secret. Or Clara has. Something about a woman who got pregnant to a bear and a bear curse that means everyone in her highland town is skittish about bears. It's not something you talk about at the dinner table. Bears and hundred year old boots.

Anyway, Clara starts bumping into bear cubs in the wild and having visions of girls who own hundred year old boots. An old woman explains the whole conundrum, her father gets over his shit and Clara saves the bears, literally and metaphorically so her ancestor can be born.

No idea... Maybe kids can make sense out of it. Some nice shots of the Swiss Alps and bears. But not enough to make this worth watching.

Disclaimer: Due to excessive work and excessive film going, MIFF posts are going to be pretty sketchy this year. I'll come back to some of the better ones and write them up proper-like if the mood takes.
